With this goal in mind, Lake Skinner has now implemented a water vessel inspection program. you can find out more about the mussel problem spreading across north america here.

Vessel Inspection consists of an entry inspection as well as an exit inspection of vessels at the park. The inspections consist of:

  • Entry Inspection:
    • Vessel Survey Interview
      • Emphasize Importance of the prevention Program
      • Notice to visitor that Lake Skinner is infected with the Quagga Mussels
      • Alert boaters of their responsibility upon leaving the lake
    • Contractual agreement Vessel Inspection Entry/Exit
    • Quagga Mussel Informative Handout
  • Exit Inspection:
    • Inspect all exposed surfaces - clean, drained & dried
    • Drain all water and dry areas
    • Drain and dry lower outboard unit
    • empty and dry buckets
    • all bait properly disposed via trash receptacle
    • Receive information on recommended waiting period between launches
  • Notification of entry vessel inspections and exit inspections. Non compliance will result in denied access whether here for the day or weekend camping.
  • Waiting period between launches: 7-10 days prior to launching at another lake, due to the fact that lake skinner contains Quagga Muscles
  • Wet slips will not be available for mooring until further notice per MWD

Consultant Design Services for a new splash pad, outdoor stage, and multi-purpose trails at the Lake Skinner Recreation Area of the Riverside County Regional Park & Open-Space District, Riverside County, California. The Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District (“District”) is seeking proposals from experienced design firms to provide design services for the aforementioned park site. The project site is located within the Lake Skinner Recreation Area at the intersection of Warren and Borel Roads in Winchester, California.

The current project will be funded through Development Impact Fees.

The 24th Annual Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2007 at Lake Skinner. Lake Skinner is a Riverside County Park and is located at 37701 Warren Rd., Winchester, CA 92596. There is an admission fee to the Festival which includes the entertainment but not food or beverages.

The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival offers top-name entertainment, wine tasting in the Wine Gardens, Kids Faire, Arts & Crafts and Commercial exhibits and the Food Court. Wine tasting features different premium wines from numerous Temecula Valley wineries as well as others from Southern California.
