With 1500 acres and access to 25 miles of hiking and equestrian trails, we guarantee you will find a quiet spot. Be it along the trail, by the river, the bluff or one of the ponds, you’re sure to find your niche.

Programs focus on mountain ecology, habitats, flora and fauna, Cahuilla Indian life ways and the history of the San Jacinto Mountains.

Jensen Alvarado Ranch
An 1880s Living History Interpretive Program and Museum located in Riverside off the 60 Freeway and Rubidoux Blvd. Open to the public Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Available for group tours Monday through Saturday. Reservations needed for Group tours.

Louis Robidoux Nature Center
Activities include children’s day camp programs in the summer, winter and spring breaks and year-round environmental education and interpretive programs, exhibits and interpretive trails.

Multi-Species Reserve
The reserve is home to at least eight types of habitat and up to 16 sensitive bird, animal and plant species. Three types of habitat dominate: Riverside coastal sage scrub, non-native grasslands and chaparral. Smaller habitats include: coast live oak woodland, southern willow scrub and live oak, and cottonwood willow riparian forests.

Plateau Vernal Pool

Santa Rosa Plateau
The Reserve protects one of the finest examples of bunchgrass prairie remaining in California with springtime flower displays of chocolate lilies, California poppies, and thread-leaf brodiaea. Springtime also makes available a large vernal pool to visitors accessible by a boardwalk onto this extremely rare type of wetland.
