MSR Trails
Natural Resource Protection is our First Priority
The Reserve was established to protect wildlife and their habitats. You are welcome to use the designated trails when they are open for use, however, we can only keep the trails open if you obey the rules and help us minimize impacts to wildlife and vegetation.
This is a Wilderness Reserve: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK
Natural areas can be dangerous. All wild animals may attack without provocation. There is a possibility that you may encounter mountain lion, coyote, badger, and/or poisonous snakes in the Reserve. Ticks and/or mosquitoes (and the diseases they may carry), poison oak, unimproved trails and other hazards also exist. Reserve trails are not improved and there are NO DRINKING WATER OR TOILET FACILITIES AVAILABLE on the trails. CHILDREN (UNDER 18 YEARS OLD) MUST BE UNDER DIRECT ADULT SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES. Cell phone coverage is sporadic at best on many parts of the reserve trails, so please check in and out with the attendant at the Lake Skinner or Diamond Valley Kiosk. Also, please inquire with the attendant for any special warnings on the day of your hike.
Public Access
You may obtain Reserve trail maps at Lake Skinner Recreation Area and at Diamond Valley Lake Visitor Center. Enter only at designated trailheads and stay on designated trails. Trails may be temporarily closed without notice for safety or operational reasons. Camping is not allowed in the Reserve or on any Reserve trail.
